On April 12, 2026, Central Analysis Bureau provided carrier safety data analysis to CBS News’ 60 Minutes in support of an investigative report on trucking safety and shipper accountability. The focus of the story is what CAB has long called Chameleon Carriers™ – a term CAB coined over a decade ago. 

The analysis drew on CAB’s proprietary scoring methodology, grounded in federal compliance data and consistent with the framework the insurance industry relies on for carrier risk assessment. 

The carriers featured in this report are not unknown to the industry – not to CAB, and not to the customers who depend on our data every day.
